Hello world! It's me! First I would like to apologize I have been super busy and the past month and a half have not done a post! I HOPE this did NOT change anyone from continuing their healthy lifestyle!
I recently have made some BIG changes in my life...so let me share :)
1st- I have moved from KS to MO!!! I moved for a career! I am SO happy I made this change! I was hesitant at first because I was scared as I was about my new healthy living but it IS the best decision I have ever made in my LIFE along with my NEW HEALTHY LIFESTYLE!!! Which brings me to....
2nd- BIG change!!! I am down 30 POUNDS!!!! Yes, that is right y'all! Eek, I still have a ways to go BUT I am proud of my accomplishments thus far!
At the end of this blog I will post a CURRENT picture of myself which you can compare it to my first ever blog picture! I am around 118 pounds from 135/140!
GO FOR YOUR GOALS!
I know I repeat myself BUT listen up! Set realistic goals!!! For example. loose FIVE pounds in a week! This is very do-able. Then once you have reached your goal...do something nice for yourself. YOU DESERVE IT!
Some goal rewards: A mani/pedi, or buy a new shirt, or pair of shorts (in this HOT weather, jeans is OUT of the question, ha ha)
As you know by now I love to read up on health and fitness! So here are some cool ideas, tips, information that I have recently read up on! ENJOY!!!!!!
That writing helps weight loss? It's true! Writing helps boost weight loss :) "Taking time to reflect on your values seems to help with self-control because it leads you to think ABOUT THE BIGGER picture."
And I believe this to be true. TRY it!
1-Write it out early- Wake up 15 minutes early
2- Be passionate- "I believe in _____" write 5 important values that come to mind first
3- Reflect on the go- When you cannot write THINK about it on the way to work/school.
So it's SUMMER TIME still and you may have a fair coming up and you want to go but want to avoid the OVER THE TOP eats. Well, good thing you read this blog because here are some alternatives to eating healthy!!
CHEWY: Saltwater taffy (1 piece)
COOL: Italian Ice
SWEET: Cotton Candy (be careful with this one)
HEARTY: Chicken kabobs (2 skewers)
FRESH: Shrimp on a stick (6 shrimp)
SALTY: Corn dog (2 3/4 oz)
Along with SUMMER there are summer ROAD TRIPS!!!
Myself I am a sucker for road trips! I caution you that along with fun road trips there is eating along they way and through out the trip.
I am not saying avoid road trips I am saying be SMART and think ahead! For example, my last road trip back home I borrowed my managers cooler so I could put fruit and healthy food I had made so when I was needing dinner on the road I would not eat fast food and when I was home I had good food to eat.
Most of need to stop for a restroom break or to fill up on gas. If so, you will be tempted by candy, soda, snacks!!! AHHH. I found myself in this situation as well..and well I did so-so.. I ended up getting Weight Watcher chips and liquorish. Not the BEST choice not the WORSE...but I learn from my mistakes!
SUMMER TIME= BBQ'S!!
what to do? Some things you could do to avoid eating bad is: Be a host!!! If you are the host you are able to provide healthy options! Remember that a BBQ is to socialize and talk with friends and family! Do this before you even think about eating! Also, what I do when my family has get togethers/bbq's is BRING MY OWN FOOD!!! I bring healthy options, fruit, water, or veggie hot dogs. LOL. My family does not judge and I am sure your "Friends" won't mind you bringing your own food:)
Now a lot of friends continue to ask me WHAT DO YOU EAT? HOW DID YOU LOOSE all that weight? or even HELP me please...
I know I re literate myself but here it goes:
I eat a ton of fruit and vegetables! HOW MUCH? $75 per week to be exact! What fruits?
Veggies, Carrots, broccoli, lettus (salads), tomatos, mushrooms, onion, etc.
I DRINK WATER or coffee<---CAUTION on coffee. Recently I have been drinking a lot. NO SODA and NO juice for me and NOOOOOOOOOOOOO fast food!!!
What's in my fridge? Water, fruit and veggies *listed above), pickles, olives, low fat mozerella cheese, red wine vinegrette, laughing cow cheese, eggs, applesauce, tuna ...
Freezer? Chicken, salmon, shrimp and a bag of frozen veggies.
Snack cuboard? Kashi bars, rice cakes, pistachos and all natural peanutbutter.
I try to keep ONLY healty food around. You eat what you have! So even if I do get hungry and eat more than I should it is not a BIG FAT CHEESEBURGER, cookies or ho-hos.
I do CARDIO and A LOT of it! I aim for 6xs a week for a hour and half = 7 to 8 miles.
When I want to stop I think "TEAM JILLIAN" hahaha, but it works! I put my body to the LIMIT!!!
Recently I had a knee injury and have to rest from the high impact cardio to the low impact but it still is helping me loose weight and I keep focused!
